new (old) pictures on the walls sure helps this place seem more like home. bob and mary were so kind to bring them out. we certainly couldn't have fit them in or on the car when we drove out here. anyway, it's really nice to have that extra touch. pictures can sometimes be like family members--they have a place in my memories.

I had the same thought staring at my blank walls yesterday. I can't wait to get some of the paintings I've had with me for years up on the walls. I realized that no matter where go, it can be those simple things that make anyplace "home." It is easy to get attached to things when they are so good at bringing that level of comfort, but it is easy enough to let some of those things go.
